Salaries for 2024 – 2025 Academic Year:
Residents are provided an educational stipend each academic year. Funds may be used for books, journals, electronic subscriptions, USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX-USA Level 3 study materials and other expenses with the approval of the program director.
Residents are provided a total of $3,000 over the course of training. These funds can be used for registration, travel, and other costs associated with attending a regional or national conference approved by the program director in advance.
Residents will regularly meet with a program assigned faculty advisor who offers objective feedback, discusses rotation evaluations and provides a clear path to success based on the resident’s career goals.
Residents have access to UpToDate, a point-of-care clinical medicine database, providing coverage of over 8,500 topics in 17 medical specialties. UpToDate integrates drug information (Lexi-Comp) and clinical images (Visual Dx). It also includes medical calculators.
The Employee Assistance Program is a voluntary work-based program offering free and confidential assessments, short-term counseling, referrals and follow-up services to employees who have personal and/or work-related problems.
Residents receive life insurance coverage valued at one year of their current salary. Additional life insurance coverage is available at the option and expense of the resident physician.
Residents receive catered hot breakfast and lunch seven days a week in the doctor’s lounge. Grab-and-Goes will also be provided for the residents in the resident lounge. Flowers Hospital also offers a Subway on site with hours 6:30am – 7:00pm, Monday – Saturday and Sunday 9:00am – 7:00pm.
Flowers Hospital provides resident physicians with professional liability insurance to cover the resident physician while acting in the performance of their duties and assignments within the training program (moonlighting activities are not covered).
